The Bauman Family has been growing apples since the farm was first homesteaded in 1895\, and Great-grandpa Stephen used to make cider in the old barn for friends and family alike. \nTogether with our sponsor Capitol Auto Group\, we have invited our friends\, some of the top local ciders in the Northwest\, to join us in our fourth annual Cider Festival. We will all be under one roof….rain or shine…for your tasting and drinking enjoyment! Attendees will be invited to vote for their favorite ciders and afterwards\, a people’s choice winner will be crowned! \nThis Cider Festival event will take place within the Bauman’s Harvest Festival over two days: September 28 & 29\, 2019. Cider Summit Seattle will take place Friday\, September 6th from 3pm to 8pm (VIP session starts at 2pm-3pm) and Saturday\, September 7th from noon to 5pm at Lake Union Park @ MOHAI\, 860 Terry Ave. N. adjacent to The Museum of History & Industry. \nPresented by Capitol Cider\, this year’s Cider Summit SEA will offer tasting flights from each producer\, allowing guests to enjoy more variety in smaller sample sizes\, in addition to their regular 2oz pours. Guests will also receive commemorative 2oz festival glassware\, as well as double the number of tasting tickets from previous years. This year’s event will feature over 150 ciders\, meads\, and cider cocktails including regional favorites and international classics\, from the industry’s leading cidermakers\, many of which will be on hand to inform and guide guests through the tastings. \nSeveral cidermakers will also be competing in the Oregon Fruit Products Fruit Cider Challenge\, creating pilot batch fruit ciders using Oregon Fruit Products puree.
