DESCRIPTION:The third annual Ballard Beer Awards returns to Ray’s Café from Monday\, April 16 to Friday\, May 11! This friendly neighborhood competition will feature one beer on tap from each of the following Ballard breweries throughout the four-week contest: Stoup Brewing\, Reuben’s Brews\, Lucky Envelope Brewing and Maritime Pacific Brewing. Each purchase of one of these beers (any size on Ray’s Café menu) counts as one vote for that brewery. \nOn Monday\, May 14 Ray’s will announce the winner who will receive a dedicated tap in the Café for one year! \nEach Wednesday throughout the duration of the contest a different brewery will host a happy hour from 4-6 p.m. in the Café where guests can chat with the brewers and learn more about their favorite Ballard beers. DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the traditional Bavarian Mayfest with Queen Anne Beerhall for two weekends on May 11th\, 12th\, 18th & 19th! A bit like a lesser-known counterpart to Oktoberfest\, Mayfest celebrates the beginning of spring and promise of better weather\, with beer of course. Rare beer fans can try a taste of Hacker-Pschorr Maibock\, a spring-release beer of which there are only 12 kegs of in Washington State\, as well as Hofbrau Maibock. Guests can dance the night away to the live music from the band\, The Bavarian Beer Garden\, on May 12th from 6pm to 9pm and Colossal Boss on May 19th from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. Attendees can also compete in nightly stein holding competitions where they can compete for glory\, gift cards\, steins\, and lots of fun prizes. Attendance is free and open to all ages until 10 PM\, 21+ after 10 PM.
