DESCRIPTION:The third annual Ballard Beer Awards returns to Ray’s Café from Monday\, April 16 to Friday\, May 11! This friendly neighborhood competition will feature one beer on tap from each of the following Ballard breweries throughout the four-week contest: Stoup Brewing\, Reuben’s Brews\, Lucky Envelope Brewing and Maritime Pacific Brewing. Each purchase of one of these beers (any size on Ray’s Café menu) counts as one vote for that brewery. \nOn Monday\, May 14 Ray’s will announce the winner who will receive a dedicated tap in the Café for one year! \nEach Wednesday throughout the duration of the contest a different brewery will host a happy hour from 4-6 p.m. in the Café where guests can chat with the brewers and learn more about their favorite Ballard beers. Event hours are 1pm to 9pm on Friday\, and 11am to 9pm on Saturday.\n“Spring beers are in bloom all over the city\,” explained Preston Weesner\, event general manager. “This festival provides a venue to celebrate by gathering with friends and enjoying a beer outside\, on a farm\, with a view––because you can!”\nThe festival is featuring 14 small Oregon craft breweries\, each pouring two beers apiece; plus one additional collaboration beer from the Holiday Ale Festival. The same team that produces the Holiday Ale Festival is managing this event as well. Look for spring sippers from Breakside\, Crux\, Culmination\, Fort George\, Level\, Little Beast\, Logsdon\, Migration\, Montavilla\, pFriem\, StormBreaker\, Upright and Zoiglhaus.
