Saké Fest PDX

June 21, 2017 @ 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm

$45 – $75
Saké Fest PDX returns to Portland on June 21, 2017
The 7th Annual Saké Fest PDX highlights food made by local chefs paired with international and local saké.

Over 40 Portland chefs and International saké producers will gather and share on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 during Saké Fest PDX at the Oregon Convention Center. More than a drink served with Japanese food or quaffed in a cocktail, saké is an unexpected gourmet addition to the table – as versatile as wine or beer.
“Attendees can choose from over 150 micro-brewed, premium and rare saké and learn how to pair it with any type of food from some of our best local chefs,” said Marcus V. Pakiser, Saké Fest PDX spokesperson and internationally renowned Saké Samurai
Discover the versatility of saké and learn to pair it with any food like a pro: Similar in profile to wine, saké is valued for its fragrance, impact, sweet or dry finish, acidity, presence and complexity.

Saké is a drink made from rice that originated in China approximately 5,000 years ago. It came to Japan around the 3rd century AD where it has been constantly enhanced and refined. Saké, as it is known today, originated at the beginning of the 20th century with the advent of modern brewing and bottling techniques.
