5 PNW Drinks Celebrating Pride

by | Jun 8, 2020

In an ideal world, members and allies of the LGBTQ+ community would be gearing up to attend annual festivities throughout June, the official Pride Month. Although many of these festivities and events have been canceled, due to COVID-19 and resulting Stay At Home orders, supporting the LGBTQ+ community is still possible.

From the comfort of your home, you can toast to love and equality with these five pride-themed libations from the Pacific Northwest. Be sure to check each company’s website for details on how they’re distributing products to customers while adhering to health and safety guidelines.

Pride Kölsch

Seattle’s Fremont Brewing is canning Pride Kölsch, as a way of giving back to the LGBTQ community. The limited release cans are emblazoned with a rainbow-colored version of the brewery’s signature heron logo. The lightly hazed pale malt combines with grassy, lemon and floral aromas to balance its semi-sweet, effervescence. Fremont has pledged to donate a portion of the proceeds from Pride to its 2020 beneficiary, Pride Foundation.

Bubbles & Brunch Beerlini

Commemorate Pride Month (and normalize drinking a beer before noon) with the Bubbles & Brunch Beerlini. From Oregon-based Deschutes Brewery, the Beerlini cans are adorned with a bright rainbow, a testament to the company’s longstanding support of Pride NW. The Bubbles & Brunch Beerlini is the classier cousin of your standard pilsner. Elevated with a medley of peach and white grape juice, it is the perfect brunch beverage.

Pride Party Pack

This year, Washington-based House Wine and Seattle Chocolate have collaborated to celebrate Pride 2020 with the release of the Pride Party Pack. Each pack includes four 12-ounce cans of Rainbow Pride Rosé Bubbles and a 12-ounce bag of truffles in a variety of flavors. A portion of the sales generated from the Pride Party Pack will be donated to the Human Rights Campaign and the Greater Seattle Business Association Scholarship Fund.

Montucky Cold Snacks

Montana-based Montucky Cold Snacks is producing a special Pride-themed rendition of its popular and already-dynamic cans, as well as limited edition merchandise such as hats and t-shirts. The taste of the signature light lager will be even more refreshing knowing that 8% of the profits from Pride cans and 100% of profits from swag sales are donated to LGBTQ organizations.

Pride Wines

A Portland-based winery and proud advocate for Pride, Hip Chicks Do Wine, is releasing three flavors of wine this June. Each flavor providing a varying taste, Hip Chicks Do Wine, ensured no wine lover would be left behind. Select among three diverse, yet delicious wines: Sappho’s Sweet Delight, Out and Proud White Wine and Loud and Proud Red Wine.
