The Vodka by Ransom

by | Oct 10, 2014

At the first sip of Ransom’s “The Vodka,” it’s unmistakable: this is not a clear spirit distilled to fade away behind mixers. Though many consider that the mark of a good vodka, The Vodka aims at showcasing the barley flavor it started off with.

So while most of the liquor is triple-filtered through limestone and charcoal over a period of two weeks, a small portion is set aside and reintroduced at the end of the filtration process, adding a rich grainy depth and a touch of sweetness back into the smooth majority. The end result is such a departure from the multinational vodkas we’ve come to expect that it’s worth sipping solo and reconsidering what a vodka can be.
